Residents across Ward 4, including Komati Village, Blinkpan, Koornfontein and surrounding farms, continue to experience electricity disruptions following damage to an Eskom power line during the storm.
The municipality has received numerous complaints regarding the electricity outages and says its electrical department is aware of the disruptions. Electricians are currently on site attending to the affected areas.
The municipality says all complaints reported through its call centre will be attended to and has apologised to residents for the inconvenience.
Meanwhile, some residents are also reporting ongoing network connectivity problems.
A Blinkpan community member said they had seen technicians working at the Blinkpan Substation, behind Foodzone Supermarket, and hoped the issue would soon be resolved.
However, a subsequent update from another community member indicated that the network remained unstable, with connectivity switching on and off.
The disruptions are adding to the challenges faced by residents during the adverse weather conditions, particularly households and businesses that rely on electricity and mobile connectivity.

Residents who are experiencing electricity-related problems are encouraged to report their complaints to the municipality’s 24-hour call centre on the following numbers:

Complaints can also be sent via WhatsApp on 064 915 2361. Residents are asked to provide their name, address and the nature of the complaint when reporting an issue.
