R1 Million up for grabs as Mpumalanga entrepreneurs invited to enter 2026 Bambelela Business Awards

Entrepreneurs across Mpumalanga are being encouraged to seize a major opportunity to grow their businesses, as the Hollywood Foundation has officially opened applications for the 2026 Mpumalanga Bambelela Business Awards.

Now in its fourth year in the province, the awards programme continues to position itself as a powerful platform for recognising and empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that are making a meaningful impact in their communities. From creating jobs to driving local economic development, these businesses remain vital to the province’s economic growth.

The Hollywood Foundation says it is excited to once again celebrate and honour the outstanding work of local entrepreneurs across Mpumalanga. Since its introduction in the province, the Bambelela Business Awards have supported 69 MSMEs, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to sustainable entrepreneurship and inclusive economic development.

This year, provincial winners will once again stand a chance to share in R1 million in funding, sponsored by the Hollywood Foundation. The funding presents a significant opportunity for businesses to expand operations, improve sustainability, and unlock new growth potential.

Hollywood Foundation Public Relations Officer Vuyisile Ngobese emphasised the importance of investing in local entrepreneurs.

“Our communities are rich with talent and entrepreneurial drive. The Bambelela Business Awards exist to unlock that potential by giving entrepreneurs the platform, support and investment they need to grow and lead within the economy,” said Ngobese.

The 2026 theme, “Bambelela (Hold On) – Your Dreams Are Valid,” speaks to the resilience and determination shown by entrepreneurs who continue to push forward despite challenges. More than just an awards programme, Bambelela offers support, guidance, visibility, and real opportunities for businesses striving to grow and make a difference.

Shortlisted applicants will take part in a two-day programme, including an exhibition and seminar. During this stage, selected SMMEs will present their businesses to a panel of judges through exhibitions or funding pitches. Judges will assess entries based on innovation, creativity, growth potential, and positive community impact.

Entrepreneurs from across Mpumalanga are urged to apply and become part of a programme that continues to uplift businesses and transform communities while nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Applications opened on 7 April 2026 and will close on 7 May 2026 at 23:59.

Interested applicants can submit their entries online via the Hollywood Foundation website. https://hollywoodfoundation.co.za/mpumalanga/mpumalanga-bambelela-business-awards-2026/
